Biography
Clea T. Waite is a research-artist whose computer animation, stereoscopic, multi-channel video-installation, hemispherical digital-film, and a collaboration with several hundred tropical spiders examine the meta-meanings found in unlikely correspondences between science and art. Waite's artistic process incorporates a dual path of inquiry, balancing aesthetic exploration with innovative, technical realization. Native to New York City, Berlin-based Waite received her Bachelor degree in Electronic Optics at MIT and her Master’s degree in 3D Computer Graphics and Animation at the MIT Media Laboratory. She's held positions as Adj. Assistant Professor of Computer Graphics at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, and Associate Professor for Digital Artistic Montage at the Academy of Film and Television (HFF), Babelsberg.
She has had numerous artistic-research fellowships world wide and her works have been exhibited and received prizes internationally.
